JOHN Rankin has warned Hibs to beware a mugging by an SPL team in disguise during Saturday's Scottish Cup quarter-final crunch. John Hughes' men go into action at Easter Road against a high-flying Ross County side that's packed with top-flight experience. Rankin knows how much the First Division upstarts would relish a scalp because he spent three years at the club after his apprenticeship as a teenager with Manchester United.

Hibs midfielder John Rankin says his old club Ross County, who travel to Easter Road for a Scottish Cup quarter-final on Saturday, must be treated as a Premier League side. Chris Hogg has sensed "vultures" circling since Hibs' recent form slump - and he's urged his team-mates to resurrect their bid for third spot. The Easter Road men dropped to fourth after the 1-1 draw with St Johnstone - when Dundee United replaced them in pole position to land the best-of-the-rest tag. John Hughes' outfit have taken just two points from the last five games and Saturday's home clash with Kilmarnock is now crucial to a revival.

It's up to us to keep the focus and it's important we get back to where we should be and where we need to be.   -John Rankin
